Sir Terry Leahy is being lined up as the next chairman of Morrisons if the £7bn takeover offer from Clayton Dubilier & Rice is successful. The former Tesco chief executive, who is a senior adviser at CD&R, is in pole position to fill the role due to his retail nous and previous track record at discounter B&M. However, sources close to the deal cautioned that it could be "someone else".
